Families Kicking together at Bays Martial Art Academy
Twice a week mums, dads, brothers and sisters come together to practice punching, kicking and defending themselves in Browns Bay.
Bays Martial Art Academy which provides training in Choi Kwang Do (www.choi.co.nz) has graduated 14 members in 2010 to First Degree Black Belt and has another 6 grading before Christmas. A further two students are grading to Second Degree Black Belt in coming weeks.
Head Instructors Mrs Tracey Meeten and Mr Lee Meeten are grading shortly for 2nd Dan Red Tag and 2nd Dan respectively.
“It is extremely rewarding to see a number of students now in their third year of training in Choi Kwang Do who have given total dedication and commitment toward obtaining their Black Belt” Says School Owner and Third Degree Black Belt Choi Kwang Do Instructor Caroline Hazelden.
“With around 80 of our 200 members training together as families it is absolutely fantastic to see Mums, Dads, Brother and Sisters working together for the same goal.” Says Caroline.
“We have Martial Art students from all areas of North Harbour from Birkenhead to Glenfield to East Coast Bays up to Albany and as far away as Orewa.” Says Caroline.
“Since opening our full time professional martial arts school in March 2008 we continue to see students of all ages wanting to learn a Martial Art. With members from three years through to their mid sixties, our school offers something for everyone.” Says Caroline.
