Xplosion Ultimate Martial Arts Event Returns to NZ Shores
Returning to our shores following it's successful New Zealand May debut is Xplosion, the international ultimate martial arts event. This time it will see New Zealand’s combat elite facing the world's best, lead by UFC and Pride fighter, Kazuhiro Nakamura at Auckland’s ASB stadium this Saturday, 11th December 2010.
Xplosion is set to rock the NZ fight scene once again with headliner, Nakamura facing the three times New Zealand WKBF Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion, Antz 'Notorious' Nansen in an X-rules World Title bout. X rules sees the first round as three minutes of kickboxing, the second round, will be four minutes of shoot boxing and the third round, five minutes of MMA. This will be an explosive clash of the martial arts codes executed by the best in their game.
Nakumura is one of the best in the MMA circuit having fought the likes of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Wanderlei Silva and his own teacher, Hidehiko Yoshida. 'Notorious' Nansen himself having recently made his mark on the Japanese MMA circuit by defeating the Judo Silver Medalist, Hiroshi Izumi, in the first round by TKO, is prepared to face yet another superstar opponent.
K1 European champion Valdet Gashi will be arriving in from Germany to face local crowd favourite Roger ‘Wild’ Earp in a full Muay Thai rules World Title bout. Both extremely technical fighters, this will be the bout to watch for muay thai fans.
Umut 'Storm' Demirors, the IFMA European Champion – will arrive from Turkey and face one of New Zealand most accomplished fighters, Richard Nola.
The explosive undercard for this event sees two New Zealand grudge match title fights and an explosive performance from the Tamashi Taiko Japanese drumming team.
A press conference is scheduled at the fighters weigh in, on Friday, 10th December at 6pm at ETK, 701 Great South Road, Auckland.
