Helicopter Aids Injured Rider

The Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a child injured in a horse riding accident this afternoon.
The helicopter, with 2 Wellington Free Ambulance paramedics onboard responded to the Mangaroa Valley in Upper Hutt around 4:30 pm today.
On our arrival we found a seven year old girl who was injured when she fell off her horse.
The girl suffered moderate injuries to her hip area. She was wearing a helmet which helped prevent any head injuries.
She was flown to Wellington Hospital, with her mother at her side, where she is being treated in the Emergency Department.
