Arrest follows serious traffic incident in Wellington earlier this week

Wellington Police have arrested a 40 year man in respect to a serious incident involving a motor vehicle colliding with a pedestrian at about 8.10pm on Wednesday 1 December 2010.

The incident occurred near the intersection of John Street and Adelaide Road, Newtown, Wellington.

The man is appearing in the Wellington District Court on Monday 6 December 2010. Police are opposing bail. The man is facing one charge of wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm and driving whilst disqualified.
