Irrigation knowledge centre goes live
A knowledge centre launched this month by Irrigation NZ will serve as the hub for irrigation information in New Zealand.
Accessed either through the Irrigation NZ website www.irrigationnz.co.nz or directly at www.irrigationefficiency.co.nz, the centre will act as the cross sector host for reports and information currently held by a myriad of different
groups, including MAF, Crown Research Institutes, and sector organisation such as the Foundation for Arable Research
(FAR) and Dairy NZ.
The IrrigationNZ Knowledge Centre is a continually evolving, quality information resource for all things irrigation in New
Zealand.
“It offers a one-stop-shop to help irrigators, irrigation schemes and their service providers find information and tools
to achieve optimum irrigation performance and profitability,” IrrigationNZ chief executive Andrew Curtis said.
Containing fact sheets, articles, presentations, reports, current research projects, practical irrigation tools, links
to related websites, field days and workshops – the knowledge centre is user friendly and will be regularly updated to
ensure the latest information is always available.
The centre will be the hub for all technical reports, tools that have been developed, current research, and economic
analysis of irrigation.
“Quite simply it’s now the go-to-place for information on who is doing what, tools to use, technical reports and
economic analysis of irrigation,” Curtis said.
Irrigation NZ designed the functionality of the knowledge centre, in conjunction with irrigators and an information
technology specialist, and will be responsible for the continued population of the centre with relevant current
information in conjunction with all stakeholders.
