Applications open for the TVNZ Community Support Foundation
TVNZ today launched the next round of its free advertising airtime programme for New Zealand’s charitable organisations.
Since the 1980s the TVNZ Community Support Foundation has provided more than $35 million of free advertising airtime to the country’s not for profit sector to promote their services and educate New Zealanders to build a better community.
TVNZ is keen to hear from registered charitable organisations who will commit to a two-year partnership with the broadcaster starting in July 2011. Applications are open until the end of February when up to four charities will be selected.
The sponsorship involves TVNZ committing up to $50,000 a month in free airtime for up to two years to each recipient to show their television advertisements. The charities must be not for profit, a registered charitable entity, apolitical, non-religious in nature and have a New Zealand focus in its work.
The selection criteria are broad with TVNZ looking for charities that demonstrate through their work “who we are as a nation and how and where we live as New Zealanders”.
The TVNZ Community Support Foundation’s current charities are the BNZ Save The Kiwi Trust, LandSAR, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of NZ and Special Olympics NZ.
