Hutt Residents encouraged to sign condolence book

Residents encouraged to sign condolence book

A condolence book has been set up at Hutt City Council for Lower Hutt residents to sign following the tragic loss of the 29 miners in the Pike River mine disaster.

Mayor Ray Wallace is encouraging locals to leave messages of sympathy and solidarity for the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones in the tragedy.

“My heart goes out to everyone affected by this terrible event and the condolence book is an opportunity for us to share our thoughts and support with them,” he says.
The condolence book is available to sign at council’s main reception on Laings Road during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
