The second Whitby Village Fair will be held on Saturday 4 December 2010, from 10am – 3pm, on the grass areas beside the
picturesque Whitby Lagoon, Whitby Shopping Village.
The Fair features a range of quality craft stalls, food stalls, children's rides and activities, and an entertainment
stage. Visiting stallholders will be selling a range of quality crafts made by themselves, or genuine hand-crafts. High
quality is a feature and requirement of the goods offered. Locals can sell what they like, and get half-price stalls!
Community information and display stalls are free, so the community is encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity
to share your hobbies, recruit new members, and raise funds!
A feature of this year's Fair is the Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars! talent contest for primary school aged children. Any
style of performance is acceptable. The competition raises funds for Whitby primary schools – every performance earns
the performers' school a donation of $10, plus the overall winner's school from each event receives a $100 cash first
prize as well. Winners also receive prize packages on the day, donated by local businesses and shops.
Only primary schools within Whitby are eligible for the performer donations and first prize. However, any performer can
compete, no matter where they are from.
There is a cap of 20 performers, or $200, on the number of performance donations any one school can receive. The first
prize donations are in addition to this limit.
Judges include adult performers from the Whitby Village Fair, local performance school instructors, fair sponsors, and
other VIPs. The stage, sound system, and stage staff are provided at each event.
Heats will be from 12 noon until 1.30pm, with finals at 1.30pm. If extra time is required for heats, late registrations
will start prior to 12 noon. Entry forms are available from the Twinkle Twinkle website, as below, and linked from each
of the events' websites.

- 10am Zumba class – join in!
- 11am Elvis lives again! Local entertainer Glenn Sullivan re-lives the legend
- 12 noon Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars heats
- 1.30pm Twinkle Twinkle finals
- 2pm local band “Monroe” entertain
If the weather is poor on the day, cancellations are from 7am on the day of the fair only.
