Mayor Launches Sustainability Database
Sustainable Manawatu (SM), New Zealand’s information centre for all things environmental, launched its National Online Sustainability Database at the i-Site yesterday. The Database is like a Yellow Pages of everything to do with sustainability ranging from how to start your own organic garden to University courses.
Organisations that offer sustainable products or services can easily add their information to the Database at no charge and will receive regular reports outlining how many visitors used their information. Brynn Neilson, CEO of Spinning Planet Limited who sponsored and built the Database said “It’s like the Yellow Pages on steroids. Organisations can add text, photos or even video and website users can rank that information to help others choose the best sustainable services and products.”
Yesterday's launch is a lead-up to the main Sustainable Manawatu launch to be held at the Green Hub, Palmerston North on Tuesday 23rd November. To find out more visit www.sustainablemanawatu.org.nz
