Nominations for NZer of the year award close

Nominations for the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards 2011 are now closed and we are pleased to announce that 524 nominations, across the five award categories, were submitted from all around New Zealand.

The quality of nominee’s are astounding and it is wonderful to know that there are so many Kiwi’s making positive contributions in our communities that now have the opportunity to be recognised for their great work.

From the team here at New Zealander of the Year Awards we would like to say a big thank you to, everyone who has nominated their inspirational Kiwi in the Awards. Compiling a nomination takes a large amount of time and we are appreciate the effort.

All nominations are now going through a comprehensive judging process which will ultimately lead to three finalists for each award category being named on the 13th of December 2010.

The finalists will then attend the Gala Awards Presentation Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Auckland on Wednesday the 2 of February 2011 where the winner of each prestigious Award category will be announced.

Gala Awards Presentation Dinner tickets will go on sale on the 22nd of November 2010.

Recipients of Kiwibank Local Heroes medals will be notified during the week of 13th to the 20th of December. Local Heroes medals will then be presented at special presentations all over New Zealand during March, 2011.

Thanks for all of your support.

Kind Regards,

The New Zealander of the Year Awards Team
