International recognition for Forsyth Barr

International recognition for Forsyth Barr Stadium director

The International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), a global organisation committed to the development and professional operation of convention centres, arenas, exhibition venues and stadiums, has invited Forsyth Barr Stadium to contribute to the leadership and sustainability of the industry worldwide.

Guy Hedderwick, commercial director, Forsyth Barr Stadium has recently taken up the prestigious three year position on the Stadiums Committee of the IAVM. Hedderwick, who has extensive international experience in sports management, sponsorship and marketing, admits to having a fetish for stadiums and is thrilled for the opportunity to help shape the industry alongside peers from across the globe.

“I am both honoured and surprised to have been invited to join such an influential group. Being part of this committee to share best practice as well as benefit from the collective knowledge and experience, will enable us to build the best stadium in Oceania and take the customer experience far beyond expectations,” says Hedderwick.

David Davies, CEO, Dunedin Venues, says the international recognition reflects the confidence he has in the whole team to deliver an unbeatable venue in August 2011.

“The Forsyth Barr Stadium will be benchmarked against international standards; this is a great platform and network for us to measure ourselves against other world leading venues.

“Guy’s appointment on this international committee demonstrates the talent and commitment of the Dunedin Venues team.
