Date: 09 October, 2010
Subject: Save Our Water campaign rally
The Our Water Our City local body campaign group is holding its electoral rally on Saturday afternoon. With preliminary election results available from 2pm, Save Our Water will lead the Water Forum in Christchurch at 3. Water issues have been a major political issue since 2007, when Save Our Water candidates were elected to the Environment Canterbury regional council.
"This will be an opportunity for residents to raise questions about the sustainable reconstruction of Christchurch and Canterbury, in light of renewed political representation," says Save Our Water spokesperson Rik Tindall. "The future is looking very different to today, and inclusive community planning means are urgently required."
The Water Forum features an open microphone discussion and is being held in the Workers' Educational Association main hall, at 59 Gloucester Street in Christchurch, from 3pm on October 9th. All are welcome to attend.
