Mayor welcomes Hutt City’s crime fall

Mayor David Ogden has welcomed news that crime has fallen 6.8 per cent in Hutt City.

“While one crime is too many, I believe we can be pleased with this drop.

“It reflects the excellent work the police in partnership with council and the community are doing to reduce crime.

“This was recognised recently with the Hutt Valley being granted ‘safe community’ status by the World Health Organisation.

“People deserve to fell secure in their homes and neighbourhoods and we will continue to work together to make Hutt City a safe place to live,” says Mayor Ogden.
