Linwood College Welfare Centre Moves To Cowles Stadium
The Welfare Centre at Linwood College will be moved to Cowles Stadium on Pages Road on Sunday (12 September 2010) as Linwood College is reopening on Monday.
The relocated centre will open at 9.30am. The 57 people at the Welfare Centre will be moved to Cowles Stadium. However, it is anticipated that some of them will be able to return home before the move.
Cowles Stadium will operate as a full welfare centre with access to representatives from most welfare agencies, including WINZ and EQC.
Residents can contact the Cowles Stadium Welfare Centre through Council call centre, (03) 941 8999 or 0800 800 169. The Addington Welfare Centre also remains open.
Christchurch City Council is working with appropriate agencies to ensure that those affected by the earthquake can find permanent accommodation. The operation of the Welfare Centres is being reviewed regularly.
