Green light for ‘green patch’ Toilet

Green light for ‘green patch’ Toilet

To be released immediately 10 September 2010

The contract to build new public toilets at the back of the green patch in Waipukurau’s main street has been awarded to Waipukurau Construction.

Central Hawke’s Bay Council Utility Manager, Brett Way, said work on the new toilet will start in the next few weeks with a schedule completion date of November.

Mayor Trish Giddens says “It’s great to be getting this project underway, Council has reprioritised projects and brought forward the ‘green patch’ toilets into this year’s programme instead of waiting until 2011.”

She was pleased the temporary ‘tin can’ toilet beside the telecom building is being replaced, it has served its purposed, but it was now time to have a new, bigger and more accessible loo in place for the community.
