Family Makes Public Plea To Find Missing Dunedin Man

The family of a Dunedin man missing since last Thursday are making a public plea for help to find him.

Brad Anderson hasn't been seen since Thursday when he filled up his car at the BP service station on Dunedin's George Street. He was driving a distinctive 2000 Nissan wingroad registration number EJK998 which is sign-written with the name of the IT business (OTAGO IT written in large yellow and blue signwriting) that he had recently started.

Family spokesman, Paul O’Sullivan says the family and Police are now searching for the outgoing 25 year-old. He says the alarm was raised on Thursday after Brad failed to answer calls and texts to his mobile which, he says is "extremely unusual for a guy who is on his phone 24/7".

"Brad's mother, family and friend's are all devastated by his disappearance and we need to find him and bring him home. In our best case scenario, we're all hoping Brad's out there and will call us when he hears this message."

Friends and family have posted messages on social networking site, Facebook asking for help to find the missing man. The outgoing 25 year old works as an IT-consultant at Otago University . "He's a fun, social guy with a great group of friends who are all helping to look for Brad."

"Brad hasn't touched his bank account since he filled up with $30 petrol at 11:30am on Thursday morning 18/8/10. The last images we have of him are from the security camera at the BP station."

The family has also attempted to find the missing man through tracking his cell-phone signal, which is still transmitting from within a 30km radius of Dunedin's Mt Cargill. The family yesterday had a helicopter conducting an arial search and teams of people combing the City and outlying areas.

"We need help from the public to find out where Brad drove to after he left the Service Station on George Street, and we're asking anyone who has seen Brad or his car to contact us or the Dunedin Police."
