Wellington Police arrest man in connection with Allison McPhee
Police have arrested and charged a 52 year-old man for the murder of Allison McPhee, who was found dead in her flat in Newtown last Wednesday.
Acting Detective Inspector Scott Miller, head of the investigation, says the man was arrested in Wellington a short time ago and will appear in the Wellington District Court later today.
"Police can confirm that this man was known to Ms McPhee. Given this matter is now before the Courts I am unable to comment any further."
Police would like to thank the public, the residents of the Newtown Park Flats and the media for the significant assistance received over the past week. This has been greatly appreciated by Police."
