Coromandel Peninsula Blueprint Framework for our Future

 The four agencies behind the Coromandel Peninsula Blueprint project has this week launched a Mäori language | Te Reo version of their long-term growth and development strategy.

Project partner Hauraki Whänui is a key contributor to the district’s – Te Tara o Te Ika a Mäui - major collaborative planning exercise.

Mäori Language Week was a fitting time to announce the document’s availability in hard copy – through Hauraki Whänui -  and online via the project’s website – www.coroblueprint.govt.nz.

Launched in 2006, the Blueprint project set out to create a sustainable framework for the district’s future, identifying the services and infrastructure required while protecting the environment.

Working with colleagues from Thames-Coromandel District Council, Environment Waikato and the Department of Conservation, Hauraki Whänui has worked hard to engage the community through hui and ongoing dialogue.

Kaitakawaenga Mike Baker and Honey Renata continue to play key roles in the ongoing project, the outcomes of which seek to sustain the mauri | life spirit.
