Making Dominion Road Work Better

Making Dominion Road Work Better

Auckland City Council would like to make Dominion Road work better – and it wants feedback on some of the transport proposals it has developed.

Dominion Road is a busy arterial route, and currently has a bus lane in each direction from View Road at the northern end, to Denbigh Avenue at the southern end.

The council’s Transport Committee has proposed a new design for the road that includes a separate cycle lane, a T2 transit lane for vehicles with two or more occupants, and a general vehicle lane, in each direction.

To deliver this design, on-street parking on Dominion Road would need to be removed and some right turning restrictions introduced.

The overall package of improvements is intended to enhance the use of Dominion Road for all users.

People interested in finding out more information or giving feedback can visit www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/dominionroad and complete an online feedback form from Monday, 19 July to Sunday, 1 August.
