Holiday Park Finalists up for Hospitality Award
The Automobile Association and the Holiday Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand (HAPNZ) today announced this year’s finalists for the AA Spirit of Hospitality Award for Excellence in Holiday Parks.
The six finalists competing for top position include All Seasons Holiday Park (Christchurch), Bowentown Beach Holiday Park (Waihi Beach), Hot Water Beach Holiday Park (Whitianga), North South Holiday Park (Christchurch), Smiths Farm Holiday Park (Picton) and Whananaki North Motels & Holiday Park (Whananaki North).
Holiday Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand Chief Executive Fergus Brown says their association is delighted to see the six finalists’ names up for the premier award of the year.
“A number of these holiday parks have been finalists on multiple occasions, and it is not surprising that their hospitality brings them back to finalist position again. However it is fantastic to see a couple of holiday parks that have not featured on the finalist list up for this year’s award too,” says Mr Brown.
AA Tourism CEO Peter Blackwell says these finalists have set a high benchmark in the industry.
“Staying at a Holiday Park is a fun, Kiwi experience that many families have enjoyed over the years. It is an experience that is engrained in our culture and one that I hope will always be there for international and domestic visitors to enjoy,” says Mr Blackwell.
“It is the hospitality of staff that ensures guests return. I congratulate our finalists and their staff for their fantastic hospitality, which makes holidaying in New Zealand such a unique and memorable experience.”
The Awards recognise New Zealand holiday park host service and hospitality excellence. Finalists are selected based on comment cards sent in by guests and the winner will be selected based on feedback on the quality of stay rather than the number of votes received.
The winner will be announced at the Holiday Parks Conference in Rotorua at the end of the month.
