Hurricanes Victor Vito: Walking with the Kids in Pelorus Round the Bays

Hurricanes star Victor Vito will use Sunday’s Pelorus Round the Bays event to warm down from the previous evenings match against the Western Force at the Westpac Stadium.

Vito will join a group of Sport Wellington’s Active Families programme people for a stroll around the waterfront to Kilbirnie Park.

Events manager Caroline Kidston says “The kids are extremely excited about Victor joining them. It’s a wonderful gesture from the Hurricanes player”.
The Active Families programme in partnership with the CCDHB and Ministry of
Health aims to ‘increase physical activity, improve skill levels and develop better diet habits for children and their families’.

The 2010 Pelorus Round the Bays is the twelfth run by Sport Wellington with an
anticipated 10,000 participants, including in excess of 170 teams.

Late registrations can be made from 7.30am on Sunday morning at Frank Kitts Park
with the half marathon starting at 8.30am, the 7km run starting at 9.20am and 7km walk starting at 9.30am. The finish area at Kilbirnie Park will be a hive of activity with marquees and entertainment through until lunchtime.

Go Wellington buses will be available to transport people back to the city.
This year the Heart Foundation is the official charity for the event.
The Dominion Post will provide a list of all finishers with their times in Monday’s
edition.
