Music at the Rotunda returns this
Sunday
ROTORUA 04.02.10: Rotorua’s Government Gardens will be an ideal picnic spot over the next few Sunday afternoons, from 1pm, as the Band Rotunda is brought to life with a little soul food.
‘Music at the Rotunda’ is a series of free Sunday performances by local musicians and groups across a range of musical genres, at the Band Rotunda opposite the Tea House, during February and March.
Local performers ‘The Nostalgia Band’ will kick off the series at 1pm this Sunday [7 February].
Rotorua District Council community arts officer Kiri Jarden says Music at the Rotunda is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to relax in a renowned setting, while enjoying live entertainment.
“The event has grown over the past three summers, with many regulars arriving early to secure their special spot.
“We encourage music lovers to bring their picnic chairs and rugs, and lay back and enjoy diverse and quality performances from some very passionate local talent.”

21 February Fourgone Conclusion and Acousticity Rotorua
14 February Art in the Park
28 February Jazz with the Dave Cown Group
7 March Jazz/Blues with the Keith Garrett Group
14 March Blues Club Presentation
21 March Rotorua Pipe Band and Fourtunz
28 March The Rotorua Symphonic Band and Brass Band
Performances will take place in most weather, but will be cancelled where it becomes too wet.
Music at the Rotunda is funded by Rotorua District Council and the Rotorua Trust.
