Speakers Ignite Wellington

Speakers Ignite Wellington

The National Speakers Association is a prestige group, which boasts some of the world's top speakers as their members. A group which started in America decades ago, made its way to New Zealand fairly quickly. The Auckland and Christchurch chapters have been set up for quite some time, but one question has been bugging many Wellingtonians for years: Why is there no chapter in Wellington?

In 2003, the chapter really did exist in the capital, but after a couple of years slowly died down. Enter 19 year old Eva-Maria. The busy-body was among the Wellingtonians asking for a chapter of their own. Finally in late 2009, the National Speakers Association of New Zealand Board made their decision to bring in the family coach, speaker and bestselling author to become Wellington Chapter's president. She and her team have been hard at work to make sure the chapter enters into the new year with a bang, and they truly feel like they have done it.

The Association is not to be confused with Toastmasters. The National Speakers Association focuses on helping speakers make a career of their speaking skill - whether it's for informative or entertaining purposes, the Association equips you with the knowledge to apply in order to create a return on speaking - from a full-time career to an extra part-time income stream.

To open up the year and the Association, the first meeting will include two of Wellington's most high profile speakers. Mark Blumsky will open and acknowledge the Association and the positive role it will have within the Wellington's business community. Followed by Billy Graham - New Zealand's sporting legend and the first New Zealander on the International Million Dollar Speaking Roundtable, who will be speaking about the how-to of professional speaking, and his personal journey in the speaking business.

The evening is a must-see, but will also be followed by international speakers at monthly NSANZ meetings in Wellington, speaking on various how-to ways of becoming a true, professional speaker in the world.
