Lazy Sundays are about to be jazzed up

Auckland’s favourite jazz festival, Jazz at the Rotunda, is back for 2010, kicking off this Sunday, 10 January.

Jazz at the Rotunda has been the highlight of the council’s Music in Parks programme for 16 years. The series features 12 weekly Sunday afternoon jazz concerts staged at the historic Auckland Domain Band Rotunda.

This Sunday, catch Ron Samson, Dixon Nacey and Kevin Haines of the SNH Trio, with special guest Chris Melville. The concert will be opened by up-and-coming jazz geniuses, Coach.

There’s a fantastic line up of jazz musicians performing free for Aucklanders during the 2010 summer, including the Auckland Jazz Orchestra, Caitlin Smith, Tony Parker's New Orleans Joy Makers, Little Big Band, Miho Wada, LippizanEars, Tamara Ricket, Lewis McCallum Band, Jennifer Zea, I'll Never Forget What's Her Name, Paul Ubana Jones, and Cherie Mathieson.

Bring a picnic and something to sit on and enjoy breezy summer afternoons under the trees in one of Auckland’s best natural assets – Auckland Domain.

Jazz at the Rotunda 2010 is brought to you by Auckland City Council and proudly supported by The Radio Network and The Lion Foundation.
