Armed Robbery at Bellbird Arms Tavern
At approximately 1220 hours on Tuesday 29 December 2009 three masked men entered the Bellbird Arms Tavern, McAnnalley Street, Manurewa armed with what appeared to be a sawn off shot gun.
The males demanded staff members to the ground and the cash safe to be opened.
The males then went to the TAB counter of the premises and demanded the till to be opened also. Approximately $16,000 - 20,000 in cash was stolen.
The males all left the premises by the rear and got into a stolen four door Nissan Cefiro, driven by a 'get away' driver. The vehicle was stolen from the East Tamaki area earlier in the morning, but has since been recovered in the Manurewa area.
The first man is described as wearing a dark hooded top with a 'Puma' motif on the front. He also wore dark trousers with a white stripe down the side, white trainers, black gloves and had a red face covering. He was carrying the firearm.
The second man is described as wearing a blue faded baseball cap, black puffer jacket with white stripes down the sleeve, black trousers, black shoes, black gloves and a black/dark face covering.
The third man is described as wearing a bright royal blue hooded top with hood up, black jacket over the top which had a small white motif on the rear, black trousers, white trainers and a dark blue patterned face covering.
