Paremoremo: escaped prisoner

Police are issuing an initial notice to residents
of the Paremoremo/Albany area that we have received a report
of a prisoner having escaped from Auckland Prison
(Paremoremo) just before midday.
He is described as a male Maori, 49 years old, 165cm tall, medium build.
Police still have to obtain a risk assessment on the prisoner but are advising members of the public not to approach anyone acting suspiciously who fits this description or to give anyone a lift in their vehicle.
Local residents are asked to check their homes and vehicles are secure. Anyone Paremoremo resident finding their home externally insecure, should contact police before making entry.
