Hutt City Council news release

Lots of fun on offer during school holidays

The summer school holidays are just around the corner and Hutt City Council’s Leisure Active team have put together an exciting range of fun activities guaranteed to keep the kids entertained.

Surf life saving, bush walking, softball, indoor sports, kite making, movies, arts and crafts and swimming are just some of the school holiday activities available for 5 to 14 year olds at programme venues across the city from 5 January to 1 February 2010.

Recreation Co-ordinator Lauren Ensor says "The programmes will suit enthusiastic kids who are keen to take up the challenge of the many outdoor activities we've got planned."

The programmes are based at 4 venues around the city – Belmont Hall, Gracefield School, Maungaraki Community Centre and Walter Nash Stadium.

The Belmont, Gracefield and Maungaraki programmes cost $35 per day per child while the Walter Nash Stadium programme is $20 per day per child.

Parents and caregivers may be eligible for Work and Income OSCAR subsidies if registering their children on the Belmont, Gracefield and Maungaraki programmes.

Holiday programme brochures are available at all council facilities and online at www.huttcity.govt.nz/holidayprog.

Bookings are now open and are expected to fill quickly.

For further information and bookings contact Leisure Active on 560 0307 during business hours.
