Picnic in the Park Celebrates Future of Hastings Netball
MEDIA RELEASE
The Hawke's Bay Regional Sports Park is revealing the sponsor of the Hastings Netball Centre this weekend and families and netball players are invited to join a Picnic in the Park to celebrate.
On Saturday, December 12 from 11am to 2pm, families can lay out their picnic on the site of the future netball courts and the Sports Park's central building to the west of the athletics track and grandstand.
Sports Park board chair, Lawrence Yule, says securing a major sponsor for the netball component of the park is a significant milestone in the development of the regional facility.
"Picnic in the Park will be a great way to celebrate this success and we want as many people as possible to come along with a picnic and enjoy the park," Mayor Yule says.
Families can enjoy a free sausage and entertainment from More FM before the big announcement at noon, followed by competitions run by Hastings Netball with The Pulse netball team.
Aspiring players have the chance to meet Pulse players Bessie Manu, Te Amo Amaru-Tibble, Ngarama Milner-Olsen, Daya Pritchard.
There are great prizes, including 10 $100 Pak'nSave vouchers, and freebies on offer and a visit from Santa will be a highlight for the littlies.
"This is a great opportunity to see the future of Hastings netball and a great day out for the family."
