NZ Police Seek Costume Thieves

Wellington Police are seeking to identify four males seen on CCTV footage regarding the theft of a Star Wars costume on 3 November.

Investigators from the Crime Control Unit have viewed the footage showing the males arrive by car at the Paparangi address at around 12.30pm. The males took the boxed costume from the back porch and after realising it was too big to fit in the boot, they put it on the back seat and drove away.

Police would also like to speak with a female who was walking her dog along Helston Road as the males were putting the boxed costume into their car.

"There are a number of pieces that make up the costume so it had been delivered in quite a large box," says Constable Steve Watts. "Sightings of four men trying to bundle this large item into their car would probably be a little unusual."

Anyone who may have information about the identity these offenders can contact Wellington Police on 0800 TIPOFF (0800 847 633).
