Manawatu: Boxes of Cheese
Location: Manawatu
District: Central
Two persons are assisting Manawatu police with inquiries after being disturbed loading suspected boxes of cheese into their vehicle. The two males were spotted by a member of public who contacted police and maintained observations on the vehicle as it was driven away through rural back roads while the occupants threw the boxes out the window. The two males were located shortly after by police. Two more are still being sought. Inquiries are underway to confirm the location of the theft.
Each box contained a number of ten kilogram blocks of cheese, many of which disintergrated when they hit the road. It is however believed a number may have survived and might have been picked up by other members of the public. Anyone locating a block is requested to contact police. It will be easily identifiable by the level of road grit found in the contents when eaten.
