Submissions sought on AgResearch application
The Environmental Risk Management Authority is calling for submissions on an application by AgResearch to conduct GM research on goats, sheep and cows in containment at its Ruakura research facility.
The research aims to learn more about gene function, milk composition and disease resistance.
It will focus on proteins important in human therapeutics and animal disease.
The application is now open for submission.
New Organisms Applications Manager Asela Atapattu says the application is for research in containment and is subject to full public consultation.
Submissions close on 18 December 2009.
