ARTA provides free train travel to Mt Smart for Samoan fundraiser this Saturday
The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) is providing free train travel to those attending the New Zealand Rugby League benefit game raising money for Samoa Tsunami disaster relief fund this Saturday 10th October at Mt Smart.
ARTA’s General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “We are proud to be supporting such a worthy event in this way and would like to encourage as many Aucklanders as possible to jump on the train to Mt Smart to support this cause and enjoy a great afternoon of rugby.”
The charitable match between Samoan Residents and the Batercard Premiership Selection kicks off at 3.30pm at Mt Smart, which is around a fifteen-minute walk from Penrose Station on the Southern Line. Gates open from 2pm.
Game-goers can travel for free on trains on all lines from 12.30pm and can connect onto the Southern Line from Britomart. Following the game, fans can travel for free on train services until 8.30pm on production of a valid match ticket. Additional services will be running to take supporters to and from the event.
