Buses to service airport terminal

MEDIA RELEASE

Buses to service airport terminal

For immediate release: 30 July 2009

Tauranga’s Bay Hopper buses will now include a regular service directly to and from the Tauranga airport terminal when the number 2 bus adjusts its route from Saturday 1 August.

Environment Bay of Plenty Senior Transport Planner Emlyn Hatch said the changes to the route mean that passengers will be able to travel with more convenience now that the bus goes directly to the airport terminal.

“We’ve worked with Tauranga City Council to secure a bus stop that takes passengers right up to the main entrance. This also gives people the opportunity to fly without the need for long term parking or relying on taxis or other people to pick them up and drop them off,” Mr Hatch said.

Route 2 will serve the airport in both directions as per the current timetable.
