Brainpower and Boogie at Re-Orientation Week

Brainpower and Boogie at Re-Orientation Week

Preparations are well underway for hilarity and high jinks at UCOL’s Re-Orientation Week from 27 – 31 July.

Organised by the Association of Students at UCOL (AS@U) and supported by UCOL, Re-O Week welcomes new and returning students to Semester Two and will give them the chance to test their brain power and roller skating prowess.

Activities throughout the week include a free en masse cooked breakfast, Market Day, live music, free food, giveaways, competitions and prizes.

Re-O Week kicks off with Game Show Mania from noon Monday in the new Learning Hub with cash and prizes up for grabs for Deal or No Deal contestants.

Local businesses will display their products and services at Tuesday’s Market Day including live tattooing demonstrations by Powerhouse Tattoos.

The traditional Big Breakfast will be preceded by a Powhiri in the Atrium at 9am on Wednesday.

Re-Orientation Week’s activities will culminate with a Freaky Friday Roller Disco at the Barber Hall, where the weirdest hairstyle or hat and the best moves, are likely to win great prizes.

AS@U Student President, Jo Hymers says “Orientation is an awesome way to kick off the semester, and a really good way to meet new people and let off some steam. O-week is always really popular with our students and the public, and is highly anticipated.”
