More Rail Services For Aucklanders From Monday

More Rail Services For Aucklanders From Monday

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) wishes to remind passengers that a new train timetable, introducing more services and more trains onto the network, will come into effect this Monday 29 June 2009.

ARTA General Manager Customer Services, Mark Lambert, says “In response to the phenomenal growth of rail, there are key changes on the Southern and Eastern Lines with extra peak and later night services, as well as additional capacity on some peak services. “

“Due to the extra services scheduled in the new timetable, there will be some slight adjustments to the departure and arrival times of existing services on the Southern and Eastern Lines, therefore passengers are advised to check carefully before travelling.

“On the Western Line, midweek evening Rail Bus replacements will cease, as normal train services resume.”

The timetable improvements are part of the ongoing upgrade to Auckland’s rail network and services, with more trains, providing customers with a more comfortable and convenient service.

“With the new timetables there will now be more trains running, at different times so Aucklanders should take extra care at stations, level and pedestrian crossings, and areas near the rail corridor. Please listen and pay heed to the warning sounds and signals” Mr Lambert said.

Copies of the timetable are now available. For more information, or to order or view the new train timetable, call MAXX on (09) 366 6400 or visit maxx.co.nz
