Bus service adjustments - Auckland
ARTA Media Advisory 5 June 2009
Bus service adjustments
As part of Auckland Regional Transport Authority’s (ARTA’s) commitment to the Passenger Transport Network Plan, and focus on working towards the creation of an integrated and simplified public transport network, there will be some adjustments to bus services, starting with some minor service reductions that will begin from Monday 8 June.
The withdrawal of these services follows a period of consultation with the public, and is in partnership with operators and local territorial authorities.
ARTA General Manager Customer Services, Mark Lambert says “Typically services that have very low patronage, less than 30% of seated capacity off-peak, can be considered for withdrawal, and very careful consideration is given to alternative services and the needs of any existing patrons. We are trying hard to get the best deal for all our customers.”
