MOE Applaud Education Venture for Business Growth
Regional Manager for the Ministry of Education, Bruce Adin, points out Counties Manukau region as a place where you can make a difference.
“Close to fifty percent of the growth experienced in NZ in the last ten years happened in the Manukau Counties region,” said Mr Adin. “I can’t think of a better place to be, than education in the Manukau region.”
“If you really want to make a difference you are in the right place,” he commented in
his address at the RICOH Business Administration Centre launch at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT).
MIT together with the support of major international company RICOH NZ Ltd, launched integrated simulated workplace classes at the new RICOH Administration Centre in the Faculty of Business this week.
Mr Adin said that initiatives such as this which enable hands-on experience and partner business and education are critical.
“I congratulate MIT for its vision and RICOH for being smart enough to say ‘Yes, we can,’” he said.
The classes aim to produce work-ready employees for the growing region, and extend the students from classroom theory to real business operations in practice.
“It is an honour to be able to give back to the community and provide students with actual hands on experience,” says Brett Smith, Key Account Manager for RICOH NZ Ltd.
Classes continue throughout the year.
