Sri Lankan Tamil Bloodbath: Tamil victims remembered as the Sri Lankan Government celebrates its successful
extermination of Thousands of Tamil civilians’.
Tamil Youth Organisation (New Zealand) is organising a black Friday event at Aotea Square today (Friday the 22nd May
2009) at 5pm at Aotea Square, Auckland CBD.
Sri Lanka is celebrating the genocide of Tamils by dancing in the streets amid state sponsored celebrations, while
Tamils all over the world are mourning the loss of their loved ones. Only the Tamil Diaspora has the freedom to even
mourn. Friday 22 May 2009 is Black Friday for all Tamils worldwide.
On this day we remember the thousands of Tamils who have been murdered in recent months by the Sri Lankan State’s
genocidal war without witnesses. In particular early this week over 30,000 Tamils were killed within a 48 hour time
period. More than 250,000 Tamils are being forcefully held without basic needs and basic rights in “concentration”
camps.
NGOs and media are still banned and Sri Lankan army is destroying the remaining evidence of war crimes now.
The Sri Lankan government has claimed a military victory over the Tamils but they have not won their hearts. The Tamil
struggle for freedom will continue until the right for self-determination is recognized.
