Inspirational teen author visits Manukau during Youth Week
As part of Manukau’s Youth Week celebrations, inspirational teenage author Eva-Maria will visit Tupu Youth and Te Matariki Clendon libraries next week.
Eva-Maria will talk about relationships - the theme for this year’s Youth Week, referring to her experiences as a life coach and using examples sourced from her book, "You Shut Up".
Published in 2007, the book addresses teen-parent relationships and has been getting rave reviews. It has featured on Television New Zealand’s Close-Up and Breakfast Show as well as Girlfriend magazine and the New Zealand Woman’s Weekly.
The author will also talk about her latest book, ‘Three Biggest Teenage Secrets That Will Change Your Life’.
Eva-Maria, who lives in Wellington, emigrated from Russia in 1996. She struggled to learn a new language and culture. At the age of 15 she was chosen to train as a life coach and at 16 she wrote ‘You Shut Up’. For more information on this amazing teenage role model go to: www.youshutup.co.nz
Manukau Mayor Len Brown encourages youth and their parents or caregivers to take some time to celebrate Manukau’s young people during Youth Week. Whether it is attending events to hear inspirational teenagers like Eva-Maria or just spending time talking to young people, it is important to support our youth, says the Mayor.
“As a father of three, I'm very passionate about what the future will hold for our young people Our youth have challenges but they also have dreams and supporting them now will ensure our young people make the most of the opportunities that come their way."
