ARTA prepared for this Monday’s protest action

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) is preparing for the Hikoi set to take place in the CBD next Monday 25 May, which may cause significant disruption to bus services.

ARTA’s General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “Our understanding is that the CBD will be heavily congested while the action takes place between approximately 9.30am and 4pm.  We advise bus passengers to expect delays or avoid travelling into or around the CBD area during this time, and consider using alternative public transport services, such as trains or ferries where possible.”

Bus services will be subject to diversions dependent on road closures and openings throughout the duration of the action, and bus stops may be open or closed at any time.

For more information, please visit maxx.co.nz or call MAXX on (09) 366 6400.

If passengers are unable to avoid travelling by bus in the area at this time, they are advised to allow considerably more time for their journey.
