Condolence Book In Napier Cathedral

A condolence book will be opened in Napier Cathedral on Saturday morning, 9 May, for slain Taradale police officer Senior Constable Len Snee.

Eastern Police District chaplain the Rev Trevor Harrison says members of the public are welcome to record their tributes to the fallen officer.

Some of the first people to sign the book, which will be opened from 10am on Saturday, are expected to include Napier Mayor Barbara Arnott, and Councillor Keith Price, a former Napier police officer and colleague of Len. The condolence book will stay at the Cathedral for the next week.

Family members and police are humbled by the range of cards, letters, emails, floral tributes, foodstuffs including home baking which have been delivered to Napier Police Station during the last two days.

Some of the flowers have been laid at the steps of the police flag which is flying at half mast outside the station.
