A chance to remember them

People are invited to join Anzac Day commemorative services around the city on Saturday, 25 April to honour those who served for our country

As well as citywide Anzac Day parades and services, there will be two commemorations at the Court of Honour in front of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

For the Dawn Service, the parade of veterans will assemble at 5.30am in the car park behind the museum before marching along Cenotaph Road to the Court of Honour for a 6am service.

A parade will assemble at the eastern side of the museum at 10.15am for the Civic Service at 11am.

Auckland City Council advises Aucklanders to avoid driving and plan ahead to make use of the special public transport services available.

NZ Bus will provide free travel for Veterans who show their RSA badge or medals on all their associated services for Anzac Day. This also includes SuperGold Card holders.

The Link Bus Service will run from 5am to assist patrons going to the Dawn Service at the Auckland Domain. Alternatively, the Newmarket train station provides easy access to the event. Visit www.maxx.co.nzfor detailed public transport information on buses, trains and ferries.

Lovers Lane, Cenotaph Road, Football Road and The Crescent will be closed from 4am to 1pm on Saturday, 25 April, and there will be no parking on Cenotaph, Football and Wintergarden roads from 10pm on Friday, 24 April to 1pm on Saturday, 25 April.
