Napier health services

18 March, 2009

Napier health services

Health services will continue to be delivered to the Napier community from the Wellesley Road building, however, Hawke’s Bay District Health Board has advised the owners of its intention to exit.

Commissioner Sir John Anderson said today (March 18) the intention to exit the property was given to the building owners, ING, late last year, following advice to the DHB of their intention to sell the building.

Sir John said a number of options, regarding the building Napier Health Services would be provided from, were being considered but no final decision needed to be made until December 2011. However, he was confident the matter would be resolved within the next 12 months.

The DHB was committed to the provision of health services in Napier and full consultation with stakeholders and the community would always take place if there was any significant change to services in the future, he said.
