11 March 2009

Coldplay fans MAXX to Vector Arena to see long-awaited tour

On Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 March, Coldplay fans heading to Vector Arena to see the Grammy award-winning band make their eagerly-awaited return to New Zealand can use public transport to travel conveniently to and from the concert.

Vector Arena is approximately 10 minutes walk from the Britomart Transport Centre and the Downtown Ferry Terminal. A regular timetable will be operating for all buses, trains and ferries travelling to Britomart.

The Link bus, which stops on Beach Road close to Vector Arena, is a good way to get to the show. Passengers can catch The Link from various locations around the CBD, Parnell, Newmarket, Karangahape Road and Ponsonby. The cash fare is $1.60 one way.

Fans are advised to allow plenty of time to get to Vector Arena in time for the start of the show.

Additional train services will be operating to take fans home after the performance on both evenings. On the Southern Line, a train will depart Britomart for Otahuhu (via Newmarket South) at 11.40pm and on the Eastern Line a train will depart Britomart for Papakura (via Glen Innes) at 11.45pm.

There will be an additional Northern Express bus service departing from Britomart at 11.30pm on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Please note that ferries will be running to their normal timetable, with the last ferry departing Downtown for Devonport at 11pm on both evenings.

Normal bus, train and ferry fares will apply.
