Farm Meeting To Engage Minds And Quad Bikes

Alternative farming practices will be the focus of a Monitor Farm Meeting in eastern Taranaki on Tuesday (24 February).

Farmers are asked to bring lunch and a quad bike to the meeting, which starts at 1030am at Makahu Hall (turn off SH43 at Strathmore and keep going through tunnel).

The day will include a visit to the property of Pat Poletti and Cynthia Northcote and presentations by the Taranaki Regional Council and Taranaki Kiwi Trust.

Organisers says the aim is to “get everyone thinking” given that farm finances are tight and there have been few technical or managerial farming developments in recent years.

The meeting is part of Meat and Wool New Zealand’s Monitor Farm Programme and sponsors include the Taranaki Regional Council, Williams and Kettle, BNZ, Inglewood Veterinary Services and Staples Rodway.

The event is due to end at 3.30pm.
