Over 55s Receive Travel Discount To Waiheke And Great Barrier Island
SeaLink has partnered with Seniors Card to provide discounted travel to Waiheke and Great Barrier Island for Seniors Card members aged 55 and over.
Travel to Waiheke at the discounted rate will now be $26 for Seniors Card members and travel to Great Barrier Island will be $96.
Peter Cox, Seniors Card’s Managing Director says: “As a member community that provides cardholders access to discounts at thousands of businesses throughout New Zealand and overseas, Seniors Card is delighted to welcome SeaLink to its ever-growing list of companies offering discounts and benefits to members aged 55 and over. The partnership further strengthens our excellent portfolio of travel-focused member benefits.”
SeaLink’s passenger and car ferry services run to Waiheke Island from Half Moon Bay seven days a week and from Auckland City on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and public holidays. The company also operates to Great Barrier Island four to six times a week in summer and three times a week in winter.
The ferry company also offers package holidays to Waiheke Island and Great Barrier Islands. Add-on activities can also be arranged at the time of booking.
Sealink General Manager Donna Gauci said in Auckland today, “The government’s SuperGold Card discounts announced last year led us to look at the bigger picture as we want to encourage as many people as possible, including the 55 to 65 year age group who do not qualify for the SuperGold Card discounts, to experience our wonderful destinations. This partnership offers the perfect opportunity to do this”.
Discounts can be accessed by showing a Seniors Card at check-in.
Seniors Card memberships are available from www.seniorscard.co.nz. Online registrations for one year costs $29, a two year membership is available at $39, and a five year membership is $69.
