Sun, sand and sounds at Coyle Park

Katchafire, dDub and The Caitlin Smith Group take to the seaside stage at Coyle Park for Telecom Summer Sounds on Saturday, 31 January from 2pm to 6pm.

Crowd favourite Katchafire is one of New Zealand’s best live acts with a roots reggae sound revered worldwide.

They are joined by the uplifting sounds of dDub, and the talents of The Caitlin Smith Group.

Get there early to grab yourself a bean bag for the afternoon and score free giveaways thanks to Telecom.

Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee chairperson, Councillor Greg Moyle, encourages Aucklanders to come and enjoy the free, family-friendly concert, one of more than 40 this summer.

“Nearby Pt Chevalier Beach has recently been resanded, so make a day of it and spend the morning there before heading up to the park for an afternoon of free music,” says Mr Moyle.

Telecom Summer Sounds is part of Auckland City Council’s Music in Parks programme, celebrating 16 summers of free, live Kiwi music in our spectacular open spaces.

Music in Parks 2009 is proudly sponsored by Telecom and Drake, and supported by NZCT, The Lion Foundation, Perry Foundation, RadioWorks (Mai FM, Solid Gold, The Breeze, MORE FM, The Edge, Radio Live and Kiwi FM), Juice TV and George FM.

Visit www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/events for full Music in Parks details and to get a copy of the programme.

Listen to Mai FM 88.6 for more details and text SOUNDS to 8288 to register for text reminders, cancellations and updates for upcoming Telecom Summer Sounds concerts.
