A long weekend celebrating Auckland
Auckland Anniversary Weekend celebrations kick off at the Viaduct this Friday evening, with the Welcome to the Weekend concert from 6.30pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display at 9.30pm lit by Auckland Mayor, Hon John Banks
The free Friday night concert features the musical talent of Midnight Youth, Autozamm, Jonny Love and Auckland covers band, The CVE.
Festivities continue throughout the weekend, with the Auckland Seafood Festival, Oceanbridge Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta, Ports of Auckland boat tours, Royal New Zealand Navy Showcase, and public tours of the STS Spirit of New Zealand.
The long weekend events conclude on Monday, with another free concert, headlined by Goldenhorse, the Jordan Luck Band and Annabel Fay.
The council is encouraging Aucklanders to come down and make the most of this fun, family occasion.
