Wellingtonians - and visitors - get top value for entertainment dollar
What better value for the entertainment dollar than the singers, bands, DJs and world class jazz instrumentalist on offer at the Trentham Music, Wine and Racing Festival?
Wellington Racing Club chief executive, David Jewell, says jazz aficionados can’t believe their luck that they get to see multi-instrumentalist jazz musician Nathan Haines for just $15, gate entry to the races.
“We are catering for all musical tastes as well as wine tastes at this year’s event. Whether its classy crooners UC3; Trentham’s favourite band Hot Club Sandwich; dance music with DJ Shan or the smooth sounds of UK based Kiwi jazz sensation, Nathan Haines, I think Trentham has it covered,” says David Jewell.
“But if good wine is your fancy, then the 15 boutique wineries offering their wares in the Wine Village and the wine tasting master classes will certainly help fill in time between the ten-race programme, which includes the running of the $1 million Group One Telegraph Handicap, New Zealand’s richest sprint race,” says David Jewell.
Access to the Wine Village marquee and entertainment stage area is available to everyone on the day.
Trentham’s Music Wine and Racing Festival takes place on Saturday 17 January, the first day of the Century City Developments 2009 Wellington Cup Carnival.
