Ancestry.com available to Manukau library members

Manukau Libraries are pleased to offer Manukau residents free access to Ancestry.com, one of the world’s largest genealogy data bases.

Service Development Manager for Manukau Libraries, Kirsty McMillan, says Ancestry.com has a huge database with more than 5 billion online records and is growing daily.

“It is proving extremely popular with genealogical societies as well as people interested in learning more about their own family history.

“While the majority of records are from the United States there are also many records from the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries.”

Ancestry.com is free for Manukau library members to access at all Learn.Net computers located in Manukau Libraries.

Libraries aren’t just for book borrowers, says Kirsty, “Residents are welcome to join the library to gain access to online resources like Ancestry.com. Just call into your local library, our staff will be happy to help you.”
